Tyre Supply & Fitting

Tyres are the only contact point between your vehicle and the road. Braking distance, cornering grip, steering response and wet weather control all depend on tyre condition.

At Lloyd Street Tyre & Auto Service in Moe, tyres are supplied, fitted and inspected as part of overall vehicle safety and performance. While mechanical servicing remains the workshop’s primary focus, tyre condition is always assessed during servicing and roadworthy inspections.

Choosing the Right Tyres

  • Vehicle type
  • Driving style
  • Load requirements
  • Towing requirements
  • Road surface conditions
  • Budget
Passenger vehicles, SUVs and 4WDs all require different tread designs and load ratings.

Incorrect tyre selection can affect:
  • Handling
  • Fuel economy
  • Road noise
  • Tyre lifespan
  • Safety in wet conditions
Tyres supplied are matched to manufacturer specifications and intended vehicle use.

Tyre Fitting and Balancing

Correct tyre installation includes:
  • Removing and inspecting existing tyres
  • Checking wheel condition
  • Mounting new tyres correctly
  • Dynamic wheel balancing
  • Setting correct tyre pressures
  • Inspecting valve stems
Wheel balancing prevents vibration at highway speeds and protects suspension components.

Frequently Asked Questions about Tyres

Tyres should be replaced when:

• Tread depth approaches the legal limit
• Uneven wear becomes severe
• Sidewall damage is visible
• Age exceeds recommended lifespan

Even if tread appears adequate, tyres older than six years may lose flexibility and grip.

Steering vibration is commonly caused by wheel imbalance.

Other causes may include:

• Worn suspension components
• Damaged tyres
• Alignment issues

Balancing corrects weight distribution within the tyre and wheel assembly.

For most vehicles, replacing tyres in pairs on the same axle is acceptable if remaining tyres are in good condition.

All-wheel-drive vehicles may require more careful matching to avoid drivetrain stress.

Yes.

Incorrect alignment, improper tyre pressure and aggressive tread patterns increase rolling resistance and fuel consumption.

If tyres are worn unevenly, alignment should be checked before installing new tyres. Replacing tyres without correcting alignment often results in repeated uneven wear.

Couple of weeks ago I had a nail in my tyre and needed it repaired quickly. I went to 2 other tyre places in Moe. First said he doesn't have the time to fix it, the next said sorry we shut in 4 mins. I drove past Tyrepower and noticed the rollar door up. It was after hours but I still called to try my luck. Luckily for me they answered and were willing to fix my tyre then and there. He worked back nearly an hour and a half past knock off time and still fit me in. Drove away more then a happy customer.🙂

Thank you to Moe Tyrepower for assistance after my tyre blew out on the highway. You checked the damaged tyre and gave good advice on my options - and then would not take payment for your time and the work you did. I appreciated your help when I was so far from home.

Fitted a complicated aftermarket rear camber kit for me. Did a great job for a reasonable price on my Classic 1985 Mercedes. Good Tradesman as they were able to achieve a good result without removing seats 💺 etc to get at suspension components. Lots of other Workshops would just avoid the job. 🙏 handles great and negative camber from first photo reduced to stop tire wear.
